Delightful George III Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Vinaigrette Made By Samuel Pemberton
Description -Rare early19th century solid silver vinaigrette of rectangularform with canted corners, hinged lid, thumbpiece, hinged inner grill and all roundreeded decoration.
The interior is silver-gilt (Gold washed) and has a lovely hinged hand pierced and engraved grill with floral decoration.
The vinaigrette is fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, king\'s head, date letter \"o\" for the year 1812 and the maker\'s mark \"SP\" which is Samuel Pemberton.
Condition -There is a tiny split to the rear left corner of the lid which is barely visible other than that the vinaigrette is in very good condition.
Dimensions -The vinaigrette is 3.8cm long x 3.5cm wide, the weight is 15.7 grams (excluding sponge).
