Offering a RARE German Halloween witch and her cat on a wind-up rocking chair dating to c1910. This wonderful treasure still has remnants of its original store sticker from The Bon Marché, Seattle! This famous department store chain was launched in Seattle, Washington in 1890. The store sticker is under her chair (see photo) and it is marked \"GERMANY\" above the sticker. This witch has an amazing, very expressive face with hand-painted molded details. Her head is made of papier-mâché and she has a painted cardboard hat with tufts of grey hair that feels like rabbit fur. Her clothing is all-original and she holds a wonderful black cat on her lap. Her arms and legs seem to be made of wood. Her chair is also wood. She measures 11.5\" x 8.5\" x 3 3/4\" and is in excellent condition especially for her age! Her metal wind-up mechanism is on her left side. It works sporadically in short intervals. Also, her chair leans forward due to her weight. A simple tiny piece of something such as clay or styrofoam does the trick to balance her upright. Also, her cat has a repaired tail from long ago. Otherwise, she is fine and very clean.
