Rare Antique Samuel Pemberton Silver Corkscrew C1790 Picnic Gentlemans Pocket For SaleThis fantastic Georgian sterling silver corkscrew measures 85mm (3.25'') long x 40mm (1.5'') across the handle and weighs 21 grams. It is virtually unmarked but is exactly the same as Samuel Pemberton pocket corkscrews I have seen and in the right light with a strong loop it is just about possible to make out the outline of SP but it is incredibly faint. It has an unusual oval mother of pearl handle with a bead border, a spiral twist to the shank and sleeve with a bead edge to either side of the screw thread. It is in good honest condition with signs of use and some bruising around the base which I have photographed all around in photos 8,9&10 and the helix is shown in photos 6&7. A rare style of Georgian pocket corkscrew from a great Birmingham maker.
This is one of two early corkscrews I am selling this week and I will always combine shipping for the second at no extra cost.
International buyers are always welcome to this sale. F.M.O.C. Postage outside the United Kingdom is at cost please contact me for a quote. Due to the recent large increase in UK postage rates I am happy for international buyers to arrange their own collection and domestic buyers to collect in person. Most international postage rates are listed as NOT signed for and NOT insured so if you require either please let me know and I will add it to your invoice. Sadly due to Italy terrible postage system I will always add £5.15 to the postage charge for signed for to ensure it reaches the customer. If the item is listed as " Signed for " on the postage then obviously it is already included. If you have any questions please do contact me. All our items are extremely well packed to save them from damage in transit. If you are not happy with this article based on the information I have provided I will always happily refund minus the cost of any postage. All purchases must be piad for within 3 days of the end of the sale unless agreed otherwise.
