A Very Rare and delightful Antique Silver Bell Push of a Fox Terrier.
Inscribed on the front \"TAWDRY\" - \"Winner of Crufts & Ranelagh\".
The Terriers head is made of solid Silver with tiny Ruby Eyes and when his head is depressed it would have made a bell ring when connected to an electricity supplyand bell, in the staff quarters of an important house in the Edwardian period.
Fully Hallmarked for London 1908 on the Head and Base.
\"TAWDRY\" is mentioned in the Crufts Catalogue of 1909 as \"Winner in 1908\".
Condition is good for age, but has sustained various dings and dents over the passage of time from use (please see photos).
A lovely unique item which displays beautifully.Size: 2.5\" dia. x 2\" high.
