RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 1800s DIMENSIONAL JET GLASS BEADED GOLD WOVEN METAL TRIM:

This sale is for a rare antique 1800s handmade faceted jet glass beaded trim fragment of the Victorian era. It consists of a metal mesh base with glittery metal soutache-like corded ribbon trim applied onto the base and secured with thread. Itshould be noted that the trim is NOT metallic or of synthetic fibers;it is metal.....it does have a patinated appearance and there is some tarnishing in upper portion of trim (see Photos 2, 6, and 8 in particular). There are also missing beads at bottom portion of trim as depicted in Photo 9). Please also note that there are missing beads along the edge on either side (picots)..... It has lots of dimension and substance due to its glass beadwork and metal fibers. I have never seen anything similar to this before.....it is a definite must for the collector of unique trims. The soutache cord measures about 1/8\" in width and it alone is very desirable....you can actually feel the metal fibers......Thismeasures approximately 24\" x 1\". The faceted beads in center are about 3/16\" in diameter.....
Please note: This is being sold \"AS IS\". It is much more impressive in person and is a very sturdy trim........Photos have been taken in natural light with no flash.........any missing beads/tarnishing isinherent with age and storage........it has a wonderful old patination. I will try to provide a small fragment for restoration purposes......This is a very sturdy trim and thicker than the norm....It would besuitable for embellishment of a bodice (cuffs), millinery use......Photo 3 shows full piece.
