EXTREMELY RARE!!

IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND ALSO IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.

CASE:

The case to this EXTREMELY RARE and sought after original JW BENSON pocket watch is English fully hall marked 925 SOLID SILVER with the RARE 25TH JUBILEE ANNIVERSARY KING GEORGE HALL MARK. The case is by Dennison and is signed accordingly. The watch is in EXCELLENT condition and looks to have been hardly ever worn! I can see only one very small shallow ding to the case back and some very light normal wear micro scratches.The double silver hinges are very good.The case sides are excellent with no wear or dings to the eye. The solid silver dust cover is in excellent condition with a little wear on its edge where a case knife has been used. This beautiful good gauge solid silver case is beautiful!I have gently polished the case, and it is shining nicely, as only real silver can. THE WATCH MEASURES 4.9CMS (49mm) IN DIAMETER. The inside of the back cover is fully hall marked for solid English sterling silver (BIRMINGHAM 1935).

DIAL:

This lovely collectible watch has a stunningly beautiful original FULLY SIGNED bright white dial. This is the sought after classical elegant dial design which has stunning Art Deco styling. It is fully signed \'JW BENSON LONDON. It is in NEAR MINT condition with no hairlines that I can see with my eye and no other damage. It has lovely black painted Arabic numerals contained within a a black painted \'Railway\' outer minute track. The dial also has a subsidiary dial which is in MINTY condition. The replacement plexi crystal is in good condition showing only very light wear. The beautiful blued steel watch hands and are in EXCELLENT condition.

MOVEMENT:

This is a beautiful SWISS made genuine frosted gilt 15 JEWELS movement. It is FULLY SIGNED by J.W Benson in a beautiful typesetting. The watch has been timed and had a light oiling by my watch maker. The watch keeps good time as tested over a 24 hour period. As always for optimum performance the watch would need to be fully serviced. It runs well and winds and sets smoothly. The SOLID silver crown looks original and is in good condition. The chain ring is also solid silver and is hallmarked. It is original and is in MINTY condition.

SILVER JUBILEE 25TH ANNIVERSARY MEDAL:

This wonderful find also has its original SOLID SILVER JUBILEE anniversary medal. This medal was only given by JW benson to purchasers of the Silver or Gold versions of this particular pocket watch. The medal is in VERY FINE condition and has the profiles of the King and Queen on the front and a picture of WINDSOR CASTLE verso.

BOX:

Also accompanying this fantastic watch is its ORIGINAL burgundy box! The box shows a little wear to its outside and is absolutely gorgeous inside with a Royal Blue velvet interior and a white chiffon lid insert with the wording \'JW Benson watchmakers Jewellers & Silversmiths 62&64 Ludgate Hill E.C.4.

Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
