This little guy is an Exceptionally Rare c1910 White American Ideal Teddy Bear. I have been collecting antique bears for over 15 years. I love Ideal bears and have several in my own collection but until this adorable little guy, I have never seen a white one, not even in any of my many reference books. He is also an unusual small size of only 11\" tall with original suede pads. I did find a reference to a very limited number of small early Ideal bears with suede pads in one of my books years ago but can not seem to find the book now. If anyone out there can tell me which book it is in, I would very much appreciate it. He is also rather unusual in that he is stuffed with horse hair which, I have only ever seen In very early bears pre 1910. He is fully jointed, has shoe button eyes and a floss stitched nose mouth and claws. He is a well loved little guy. He has quite a bit of mohair loss, some discoloration here and there and his suede pads have grown a bit brittle over time and one is cracked and has a repair. He is still in nice sturdy condition for a fella over 100 years old. This little guy has an adorable face, nice round body with a wonderful pronounced little hump and loads of charm and character.
