RARE AVIATION PILOT\'S LICENSE SIGNED by ORVILLE WRIGHT & WILL ROGERS:
$3150.00

ROGERS, WILL & ORVILLE WRIGHT. Rare Aviation License Signed by Both Orville Wright and Will Rogers. 1926. Small (3” x 4”) leather bound printed Aviator’s Certificate signed by the author - famous early aviator Orville Wright and by the noted American humorist, lecturer, and actor Will Rogers issued by the Federation Aeronautic Association of the United States to Mr. F. Gerald Phillips on November 30, 1926 with his photograph affixed to the interior. Boldly signed by “Orville Wright” as Chairman of the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) Contest Committee. Also boldly signed “Will Rogers” (in red ink) just above the Mr. Phillip’s photograph. Beneath Rogers’ signature (in Phillips\'s hand) is written in ink “Pass[enger]. Albany to N.Y.C. 1929”. Will Rogers, America\'s great humorist and early promoter of aviation, was killed in an Alaskan airplane crash that also claimed the life of another early aviator, Wiley Post. Very good with some handling with the gilt stamping to the front cover still bright and a tape reinforced spine. Only a few of these pilot\'s licenses signed by Orville Wright have survived, and this one signed as well by Will Rogers makes it unique.
