Antique SE. AMERICAN 17th C. Map-\"Nova Belgica Et Anglia Nova\" By Wm Bleauw, Amsterdam c.1635 Vito Bell EstateVito Bell Estate. We recently acquired this fine, rare hand colored engraved map of southEastern America c.1635. It shows what is primarily now Virginia and northern Florida. Three factors add to the rareness and desirability of this map: 1) it is oriented to the west, 2) it provides the earliest appearance of Manhates (Manhattan) and 3) it is the first printed map that depicts canoes and North American fauna. In addition, locations of Indian tribes are identified. Some toning and light foxing consistent with age (over 380 years old). the map does not lie perfectly flat in frame. NOT examined out of frame. Dimensions: 20.5\" x 15.5\" (image only), 26.5\" x 22.75\" (framed).Please ask all questions before offerding.
