Description :An unusual and rare chased copper over carved woodhandle with dog headprotruding from backside.It is made bya fine thin sheet of copper that is so smoothly and beautifully molded over inner core probably of wood, the quality is exceptional. An engraved gold collar attaches a fine Malacca wood shaft with original steel ground ferrule.
Size : Overall length 36"; handle is 3 7/8" wide x 3 1/4" tall; the shaft at the handle is 3/4" diameter
Age : 19th C.

Condition : Small dent to end of handle and other small wear and tear micro pucking; gold filled collar is tarnished; shaft showing some wear to its lacquer finish; minor crooking in the last 12" of shaft
