For sale is this antique Barber Shop Electric Sign Indicator.
I am told that this would hang in a large scale barber shop and was used sorta like the system at DMV and when they called your number you were next up to get your hair cut.
This is an extremely rare piece and a must have for any serious barber shop collector. It was manufactured by the Barber Shop Electric Indicator Co. of Columbus Grove, Ohio. and has patented dates of Sept. 29th 1903 and June 14th 1904.
It is made of metal and measures 12\" in diameter x 2 1/4\" thick.
I did not power it up so I am selling it untested and as-is. I can tell you when you strike it with your knuckle a bell rings. So the indicator probably gave off a ring when the number was switched.
