A rare find. Here we have a pair of Victorian 14-15k yellow gold mounted real scarab beetles, probably drops from an old necklace. They\'ve been repurposed as earrings with 14k gold drop posts that add about 3/8\" to the 1/2\" height of the scarab on each one. These are not faux, but are real Egyptian scarabs, dried, and in excellent condition showing a high iridescent coloration shift inherent in this particular art of nature.NOTE: I have a fabulous Victorian pendant with scarab and reticulated drop fringe, too, which will be listed soon. It will be offered separately along with an 18k gold chain.
Very good to excellent undamaged condition, the 14k gold earring drop is newer, the mounted scarabs are early to mid-1800s. Splendid, ready to wear and enjoy.Our photos are large and clear. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
