A ring that is both Beautifully crafted and Impressive!
The sardonyx stone is Amazing in color. It varies from a blackish red-brown on the left to a Rich reddish-brown on the right.And the intaglio carving is Stunning in its precision and detail. There are numerous layers to the intaglio that show it wascarved by a master craftsman. The profile is of an ancient Greek or perhaps Roman man. He has a trimmed beard, a few stray hairs at his forehead, and what appear to be arrow points emanating from both sides of his neck. The stone is set in 14K yellow gold that is pierced and decorated on each side.This is really a Unique and Fascinating ring! It has an Edwardian appearance to it. The pieceis solid and weighty, and the weight is 7 gram.It is a real sardonyx stone. The stone has been verified by two leading gemstone experts - one in Washington, D.C. and one in New York City.Each gemstone expert stated without hesitation that it is a real sardonyx. It is of a dark red, brown, and black coloration, which is rather rare.There is NO white banding in the stone.
