RARE Authentic 1868 Mistick Krewe of Comus Mardi Gras Invitation. This antique invitation is in good condition for it\'s age, with a small amount of smudged green ink & a faded spot on the back & one slightly creased corner. The invitation measures 3 3/8\" x 5 7/8\". The litho graphics are fabulous in gold & blue, it says: \"Mistick Krewe of Comus, February 25th, 1868, No. 8, Admit Mr. C.H. Lehnschill (The name is handwritten in ink & I think that\'s what it says). There\'s unusual little inset graphics of a naked cherub falling on it\'s head, a man with a huge steer, a skeleton holding a drink & a scythe with a baby skeleton in a cradle, a man on a bucking horse, a smilingbat, a Santa Claus figure with gifts on his back, holding a Christmas tree and a King with a crown on his head. In between are crossed swords & jesters. The back side of the invitation says: Varieties, This Card is personal and not transferrable. Crescent Lith. with the MKC logo in the center. It\'s a great & unusual Mistick Krewe of Comus invitation, hard to find in such good condition, and a desirable, historical piece for any Mardi Gras collector. Don\'t miss out on the party!
