RARE CORK IRISH PROVINCIAL STERLING SILVER CRESTED MUSTARD POT 1837 ANTIQUE 130g:

A very rare large Georgian Irish sterlingsilver mustard pot. It is hallmarked for Dublin 1837 with the maker’s marksbeing RG for Richard Garde of Broad Lane Cork. Ithas been beautifully designed being superbly embossed with a grape vine. Thelid has been engraved with the crest of the Crosthwaite Family from Dublin which I think were bankers. It is in ok condition for its age and scarcity beingfree from dings splits and holes, there is a repair to the handle visible inside and a base plate has been added at some time, both early. Itstill retains its blue glass liner which is in super condition being free fromchips cracks and repairs. It is as mentioned a large example measuring approx. 3.75inches (9.5cms) wide including the handle by approx. 3 inches (7.6cms) tall. Itweighs a very impressive 230 grams including the liner and 130 grams excludingit. A very rare example.
