RARE DUTCH STERLING SILVER NEEDLE CASE GOOSE c1900 ANTIQUE SEWING NEEDLEWORK:

A very interesting rare Dutchsilver needle case. It is marked with the Dutch sword mark (used c1814-1953)and some numbers to its feet. I would date this piece to the late 19thearly 20thcentury c1890-1920. It has been superbly designed in theform of a Goose with removable head. I suspect it is for needles rather thansnuff as it would be hard to get snuff into it. It is in superb condition beingfree from dings splits and repairs, it wobbles slightly on its feet but it’sjust the way it was made. It measures 3 inches (7.6cms) long by a touch over 1inch wide and weighs 30 grams. A well made well designed very rare piece.
