Whether you are a new collector or an avid Dickens Village fan, this isan opportunity to own all of the houses in the Dickens Village \'Original 7\' collection. In 1984, Dept. 56 introduced a new village, the first in a collection of villages now referred to as the Heritage Series. This first series of houses was called Dickens\' Village, an English village based on the works of Charles Dickens. For the first time, the houses and accessories were made of porcelain instead of ceramic, allowing for finer details to show and producing a warmer glow when the houses were lit. The first seven houses in this series are referred to as \"The Original Shops of Dickens Village\" and include:
Crowntree Inn Candle Shop Green Grocer Golden Swan Baker Bean & Son Smithy Shop Abel Beasley Butcher Jones & Co. Brush & Basket Shop All seven of these houses were retired in 1988. This collection includes all 7 of the original houses, all in their original styrofoam boxes and sleeves. All houses have their light cords and are beautiful, without chips or cracks.
