A very quality Celtic stylesterling silver commemorative quaich. It is hallmarked for London 1936 with themaker’s marks being PGD&SN for P G Dodd & Son, it isalso marked DODD CORNHILL LONDON. It hasbeen made to mark the coronation of King Edward VIII having a commemorative 1937 coin insert - this is the coronation that never happened as he abducated. It has been superbly made having a broad bowl and beautiful cast Celticdragon handles. It is in superb condition being free from dings splitsdistortions and repairs. It is a decent size measuring almost 5.75 inches (14.3cms)wide including the handles and 3.5 inches (9cms) excluding them by almost 1inch (2.3cms) tall and weighs 102 grams. A beautifully made rare and desirable piece.
