THIS ITEM IS A VERY FINE AND RARE ENGLISH GILT STERLING SILVER ENGINE TURNED SNUFF BOX THAT WAS MADE BY NATHANIEL MILLS IN BIRMINGHAM 1826. THIS PIECE IS ONE OF MILLS FINEST AND RAREST PIECES WITH A MICRO MOSAIC PLAQUE WITH A BIRD INSET IN IT\'S LID. THIS PIECE IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLY CONSTRUCTED, EVEN HAVING A PERFECT 17 BARREL HINGE. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH A FANTASTIC PATINA. IT STILL RETAINS MOST OF IT\'S ORIGINAL GILT SURFACES. THE BODY IS STRAIGHT AND DENT FREE AND THE LID CLOSES PERFECTLY. IT MEASURES 3 3/8\" X 2 1/4\" WIDE AND IT WEIGHS 174 GRAMS OR 5.5 TROY OUNCES. IT HAS NEVER BEEN ENGRAVED OR MONOGRAMED. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE PIECE OF SILVER.
