RARE ENGLISH SOLID STERLING SILVER TRAMP HOBO VAGRANT MENU HOLDER 1978 53g:
$114.47
An unusual English solidsterling silver menu holder. It is hallmarked for London 1978 with the maker’smarks being TCJ for Thomas Charles Jarvis. Itis one of a set that have become known as ‘street scene or cries of London’ menu holders as theydepict various characters that may have been encountered on a Victorian citystreet. This example is number 17 and has been finely cast in the form of a tramp, hobo, or vagrant, cooking whilst perched on a crate. Notesome of these are more common than others, this example is extremely rare although each are unique as they were made using the lost wax process. It is in super condition being free fromdings splits and repairs. It measures 1.75 inches (4.4cms) tall by over 1.5inches (4.1cms) across its base and weighs a respectable 53 grams. A very goodquality rare example.
