RARE ENGLISH STERLING SILVER MAUNDY MONEY COIN LETTER OPENER 1905 ROYAL ANTIQUE:

A very interesting and rare sterlingsilver letter opener. It is hallmarked for Chester 1905 with the makers markbeing AB&S for Andrew Barrett & Sons. It looks to have been made using Maundy money. Maundy money was small silver coins that where distributed by the British Monarchor a royal official at a Maundy Thursday service theday before Good Friday. The coins are dated from the largest to the smallest1896, 1895, 1901, 1860 and 1905. It is in perfect condition being freefrom dings splits and repairs. It measures a touch over 7 inches (18cms) long by1 inch (2.6cms) wide and weighs 27 grams. A very interesting, rare, possibly unique piece.
