She has beencalled the “first lady of sporting art”. Her work can be found in nationalpublications, private collections and various galleries. Merry\"Kelley\" Stevens gained international recognition, mainly in thefield of race track paintings and beautiful portraits of some of the finesthorses in the world. Admired as one of the most noted equine artists in theUnited States, Kelly\'s artwork beautifully captures the horse in itsmulti-faceted moods of strength, gentleness, intelligence, and athleticprowess. Always in demand, she was commissioned by the Santa Anita Race Track,the Bay Meadows Race Track, The Northern California Thoroughbred Association,and numerous private collectors. Sadly,Kelly Stevens passed away in 1996 and her work has been difficult to find andrarely offered for sale.
