RAREFOLK ART GERMAN SPRINGERLE WOOD ROLLING PIN 19th CENTURY

Simplysuperb antique 1800\'s German Springerle Rolling Pin with beautiful patina andcarvings. These were used in the late 19th and early 20th century to roll outand decorate cookies at Christmas and New Years.
Large fat rolling pin, very heavy, measures 15\" from handle tip to tip. Probably maple wood.
Twelve hand carved designs: animals, plants, birds. A beautiful and rareexample of German treenware.
