1 1/4 troy - SUPERB CONDITION - RARE - Armorial Crest

This is a lovely RAREGEORGIAN solid sterling silver marrow scoop which was made in London, England in 1770by the illustrious Georgian silversmiths, Thomas Chawner and William Chawner at their Red Lion Street workshops in Clerkenwell. It is8 1/2\" long and 3/4\" and 3/8\" wide across the tapering scoops. It is in the Old English pattern and is rather substantial - weighing in at49.2 grams -well over 1 1/2troy oz. It is engraved with an armorial crest to the rear of the larger scoop.

It is in very good condition with only the usual light surface scratching and no dents or repairs - and with NO dings or splits - SUPERB. Please see the photographs for the detail of the stunning condition of the scoops. It is hallmarked on the reverse of the handle with TC intersecting WC, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),crowned leopard head, P- all somewhat deformed due to reforming after assay - showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1770. I have shown the hallmarks so that you can make up your own mind. Postage will be FREE within the UK and from 4.50GBP to international destinations. A really RARE GEORGIAN marrow scoop in superb condition after almost 250 years!!!!

Please note that the primary postage costs are for second class (or standard parcels service if the postage cost is over 6.00GBP) within the UK or surface mail to international destinations.
