RARE, GORGEOUS, RUBELLES (NEAR MELUN) FRENCH UNIQUE FAIENCE PLATE 1833-1858:

This beautiful and unique plate was made between 1838 - 1858 at the Rubelles factory, near the town of Melun. We are not experts by any means, but it is our understanding that the mysterious and atmospheric central scene is created through a complex use of enamels. The scene on this plate is especially wonderful because it seems to be a Versailles-like scene of a lady of the court near a fountain within a mysterious forest glade.Our photographs do not so justice to the plate. The central panel is actually more of a stunning emerald green than the green seen in the photographs.buyers: we will ship internationally, but we will need the country of destination in order to determine shipping costs.
