Made circa 1935, this cheerful and rare little compote is by famous N.C. Potter, C.C. Cole (1887-1967), of Seagrove, N.C. It is beautifully thrown, features a wide mouth and stands on a sturdy little foot with a neatly rolled edge. It is brightly glazed in the happiest yellow. Unusual in design and color, this stand-out piece is a must have for any collector of N.C. pottery. It is signed on the bottom by C.C. Cole. Not dated. Excellent condition.
