You are viewing a fabulous and RARE Murphy Bed + Secretary + Bookshelf, designed by Hans Wegner for Ry Mobler c1970s. This handsome unit features a woven rattan-fronted pull-down murphy bed unit on the left side (with leather strap pull, cast metal latch, cast metal flip-down legs, a narrow upholstered mattress with wooden framing and a pair of canvas straps to hold the mattress in place when stored). The right side features two adjustable shelves on top, and a lockable pull down secretary cabinet (with one drawer/pull-out tray, 4 small cubbies, a lockable drawer and a working fixed light unit) and a horizontal bracing/foot-rest bar at the bottom, which also attaches to the right side pier. Also has finished panels on backside, so the secretary unit can be conceivably flipped around to be used on the other side. Retains original Danish control tag at base of right side vertical pier. In very good original condition...original gray painted framing around interior mattress has moderate scuffing to paint...leather strap and metal finishes have some minor patina...some pitting to horizontal bracing bar...one small split in veneer on left side edge of murphy bed framing...and some sun fading on back panel of murphy bed section. Mattress has newer upholstery...mattress measures 32\"W x 74\"L (an old school dorm room size). **SEE ALL PHOTOS and ask ALL questions prior to purchasing!
