RARE IMPERIAL GERMAN AUSTRIAN WW1 10 MEDAL BAR IRON CROSS MILITARY HEAVY WEAR:

Rare Imperial Medal Bar. This large bar measures 8 3/4” across the top of the ribbon. Shows heavy wear and use, with soiling and staining to the ribbons and lots of wear, tarnish, contact and touch marks to the medals. One medal has come loose and needs to be re-sewn to its ribbon. This medal bar would benefit from some repair work, but it is an interesting piece as it is. 10 original medals and their ribbons: (1) 1914 Iron Cross, 2nd Class. Magnetic core, silver frame, hallmarked on the ring (illegible). Looks like the integral suspension ring came off (it was obviously worn a lot) and then repaired. The ribbon is extremely worn, with dark under thread showing, as well as soiling and staining. In addition, the ribbon has spread apart showing the padding from the mounting bar, so needs to re-sewn also. (2) Bavarian Military Merit Cross, 3rd Class with Swords. Heavy wear with the finish worn from the edges and the high points. The medal has separated completely from the bar and needs to be resewn. The ribbon is soiled, worn and stained. (3) Military Merit Cross, 3rd Class. The enamel is intact. Heavy wear and tarnish overall. Surface dirt in the recesses. The ribbon is extremely frayed. (4) Hindenburg Cross. Magnetic. Marked L. NBG. on the reverse. Heavy wear with the finish worn from the high points and tarnish. The ribbon is soiled. (5) Bavarian Commemorative Army Medal 1905. Heavy wear with the finish worn from the high points. Ribbon is frayed and worn with the blue threads worn away in places. (6) Kaiser Wilhelm Centenary Medal, 1897. Moderate wear and contact marks. The ribbon is very faded. (7) Military Long Service Cross 25 year. Moderate to heavy wear with the finish gone from the high points. The ribbon is extremely faded as well as soiled and stained. (8) Prussian War Veteran Association Honor Cross, 2nd Class. Moderate to heavy wear, and the original ribbon is soiled and stained. (9) Austria Hungary WW1 Commemorative Medal 1914-1918. Moderate to heavy wear with uneven black tarnish. The ribbon is soiled. (10) Austria Hungary WW1 Commemorative Medal 1915-1918 in gilt. Wear and contact marks. The ribbon is soiled.
