This is a heavy Irish sterling silver tumbler/beaker of modern design in plain cylindrical form.It is a provincial piece made in Kilkenny by Rionore of Kilkenny and sent to Dublin to be hallmarked.It has a clear set of hallmarks show makers mark of backwards R and K, Hibernia, Harp Crowned and date letter d for 1971.It is a heavy piece weighing 163 grams.It stands almost 7 cm in height and diameter at top is 7.8 cm and at base is 6.5 cm.Condition is excellent.This sale is for one of a pair of tumblers. The second is also listed on and I will combine postage if both purchased.Rionore of Kilkenny was originally founded by Bill Blunden and Basil Goulding, primarily making silver jewellery. In the early 1960\'s the German Rudolf Heltzel, who was greatly influenced by Scandinavian design, arrived in Kilkenny. He is a renowned gold and silversmith, who designs and works in platinum, gold and silver, with precious stones. Rionore of Kilkenny exhibited at Booty Jewellery, New Bond St, in 1971.
