a rare 18C Irish Provincial CORK sterling silver condiment spoon by Joseph Gibson.

The piece is clearly marked with GIBSON STERLING . Joseph Gibson worked from about 1784 until his death in 1820. He married the daughter of another Cork silversmith, John Nicolson. He registered his mark at the Dublin assay office in 1797.

The spoon measures about 4 1/4 inches long. It is in outstanding condition, with no damage or repairs, just some minor pitting to the bowl.
