offered for sale is this fabulous large and very rareexample ofan art nouveau pewter card tray and as such is a must have piece,made during the secessionist jugenstil period of the early 1900\'s and easily recognisable as coming from the portfolio of designs by archibald knox,these designs formed the basis for the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware retailed by liberty & co,itis in a polished condition and as a result it has a mirror like finish as it had when first made over 100 years ago with little or no loss to the wonderful hand raised entwined hearts with their wonderful rainbow hued abalone insets,it has all the appearance of a hand wrought piece giving it a wonderful arts & crafts feel and its lightly polished finish shimmers in the light when moved,the surface is good, with no pitting or damage so the super condition makes this an this a truly wonderful piece,it is fully marked to the basewith the design number tudric 0109,the number indicates that thispiece iscirca 1902,overall condition should be considered as superb but it is well over100 years oldand may have minor signs of age & use.this is a very fine piece measuring approximately 9.5\" in diameter
