Here is an absolutely fantastic styled table lamp that
embraces a design style reminiscent of the architectural
philosophy of Morris Lapidus! The senses delight
in the wild sculptural shape of the ceramic and brass body.
The iconic mid century hues of black and gold
decorate the theme of this saucer lamp!
Topped with a fiberglass shade of the same hues!This lamp is very scarce and a rare survivor
of the early fifties. Many of the most outrageous lamps
of this period were discarded when the mid century
period ended and decor reverted to Spanish,
colonial or generic \'contemporary\' furnishings.
This lamp has the feel of a 50s science fiction paperback!
The body seems almost like some futurist architecture
on another world - a saucer leaving a spaceport.It\'s the perfect lamp to illumine a mid century library
and read sci-fi classics from Bradbury, Asimov or Heinlein!Lamp works perfectly. Lamp body and saucer are in very good shape.
The fiberglass shade shows significant wear. It has been glued
at some point and shows age wear to the banding
and metal frame.It looks SPECTACULAR!A true googie styled lamp that embraces the outer limits of mid century style!
