Rare, fiberglass reflector floor lamp.......a supreme example \'atomic style\' Jetson\'s lamp.
Who doesn\'t love those charming fiberglass \'TV\' lamps from the early 1950\'s. Imagine one of those lamps blown up in scale, in the form of a floor lamp.This is a cream colored fiberglass cone and shade floor lamp, with a gorgeous metallic silver \'swirl pattern\'. Black metal base, with a ribbed or fluted column.
As a long time collector, I have never seen another one of these treasures aside from this one.
Condition:Good to very-good original condition. Roughly 56 inches tall.....not over-powering in size. The shade is about 17 inches wide.Some darker areas on the fiberglass cone as shown. Minor scuffs on the base. All commensurate with usage, for what is probably a 60 year old lamp.Original intact condition.As a mid century lamp lover, collector and seller, my philosophy is simple and two pronged;1) RARITY AND BEAUTY
One can easily buy a great $1000 contemporary lamp from Holly Hunt or Circa lighting, or Flos (to name a few) but the lamps I sell
will never be produced again and I appreciate their rarity.
2) HONESTY
I never sell \"Frankenstein\" lamps (odd pieces slapped together, slathered in new paint (oddly enough usually fire engine red) and passed off as having an exotic (usually Italian, or Gino Sarfatti ) origin.
