RARE: Original Les David Native American Hopi Kachina Set, c. 1970, Huge:

A large and important carved Kachina group by well known Hopi artisan Leslie (Les) David, made in Arizona, c. 1970, and signed \'Les David\'. This important and rare Kachina group with two figures was exhibited and won 1st place at the \'Original American Indian & Western Relic Show\' held in Los Angeles in 1973. The standing figure at its highest point measures approximately 17.5\", but it\'s also very long.
Sadly I don\'t know much about Kachina dolls or American Indian culture, so I can\'t say for certain what the scene depicts, but it does appear that the larger figure has captured or enslaved the other for someunknown reason. Both Kachina dolls are beautifully carved and decorated. It was acquired as part of a collection of high quality and rather important Kachina carvings, several others of which I will be listing on as well.
