RARE PAIR ANTIQUE ELKINGTON SILVER PLATED MEAT DOMES,1851,FAB ARTICHOKE FINIALS:

I have here on offer a super pair of early Elkington & co silver plated meat domes.They both have the marks for 1851 to the edge and have the most gorgeous quality finials in the form of artichokes.These can be unscrewed for cleaning as you can see from the pics. They have numbers 3 and 4 on them so there were most likely at least another 2 at some point. The domes are of the lobed type and they measure 14 inches long by 11 inches wide by about 7.5 inches high including the finial.As you can see they have suffered a number of knocks! They both have some creases and bashes with some scratching to the plate through use although as you can see the plate is mainly pretty good and polishes up very well.The finials sit a little proud, particularly number four where the rear part sits a bit high but I have no doubt these are the original finials as they match the numbers on the inside. Please refer to the pics which hopefully show all this for you. Not for you if you like things perfect but a lovely pair of Elkington pieces and as you can see they still display well.
