Up for sale are these two early glass oil lamps with large , No 3 size, unmarked Dietz Paragon burners.

PLEASE NOTE, THEMARKED DIETZ PARAGON BURNER SHOWN IN THE LAST 3 PICTURES IS FOR COMPARISON ONLY AND ISNOTINCLUDED IN THE SALE

The founts are old opal (white ) glass and measure just over 3&1/2 inches tall with the collars, 4& 3/4 inches max diameter and 3&1/2 inches diameter under the shoulder . They would fit nicely into many of the early shallow cast iron baskets found on keroliers and bracket lamps.

Both founts have No 3 size, American , brass burner collars, one has been replastered at some time.

Founts have the usual swirl/ stretch lines in the glass, but no cracks or chips, also need a good clean up.

The burners are uncleaned, and are No 3 size Dietz paragon burners, but completely unmarked. They are the same in every other respect to the No 3 size Paragon burners sold in the UK by Dietz london, last 3 pics show one of those burners for comparison, made on the smae machine, same hole stampings, same knurling to edge of shade carrier, same filler flap inside the burner, the parts are interchangeable.

Wicks (1&1/2 inch wide ) both wind ok, a bit stiff, but they\'re dry and uncleaned.

The integral shade carriers are for 4 inch fitter shades.

Only damage to burners are slight cracking at the ends of the flame slots in deflector cap, which is typical of Paragon burners.

An 1875 wholesaler\'s catalogue shows these burners and they\'re listed as \'same as those sold as the Paragon burner \' . Can onyl assume that the patent had expired and they went onto general sale.

Hard to find odd ones, let alone a matching pair of burners and founts !
