Up for offer today is a original large hand painted/varnished Chromolithograph of Burning Arrow by A.D.M. Cooper. The chromolithograph was believed to be published prior to the one by the Prang Lithograph Company circa 1900 and is NOT the common one available on which was a mass produced lithograph with the prang and co, 1904 logo in the bottom left. We believe this may have been a \"one off\" printers hand embellished proof making it exceedingly rare. It is unmarked by any printer and clearly has hand applied coating details to mimic an oil painting.
The print depicts an American Indian War Party, signaling others in the distance by shooting a \"Burning Arrow\" into the sky. Measures 19-1/2\" x 25-1/2\" on thick hard artist board backing. Wonderful piece would look outstanding in a period frame, appears to look just like an oil painting with age and Craquelure.
