RARE. Quality, heavy, silver-gilt picture-front spoon - London 1868 H. Holland:

Very good quality silver-gilt picture-front spoon for sugar or preserves. I believe it portrays Silenus (Bacchus\' father), though he could be mistaken for Falstaff or some otherhistorical figure. This is aRARE design andwhen you do see them they are often not as old as this one.

Hallmarked for London 1868 on the back of the bowl, it weighs approx. 20.6g and is approx. 125mm/5\" long.

The items I am selling are from my own collection, whichI have built up over 20+ years. I have decided to rationalize my collection and concentrate on fewer areas, and so I am selling the items which no longer fit in with my collecting criteria.
