/LOW OPENING offer/BUY IT NOW--This sale is for a BEAUTIFUL 8-FOOT KAUILA WOOD BARBED SPEAR THAT WAS HAND-CARVED BY HAWAIIAN TREASURE AND MASTER WOODTURNER ROBERT M. HAMADA. The spear comes from a private estate collection and was purchased directly from Mr. Hamada in 1988 and includes supporting documentation from Mr. Hamada. The owner spent a full day with Mr. Hamada in 1988 at his home in Kauai and personally commissioned Mr. Hamada to make some very unique pieces and this spear is one of those items. The Hamada poi pounder and the Hamada walking stick that I previously listed have been sold so this is the last Hamada item I have for sale. Mr. Hamada\'s pieces are known throughout the world and his pieces are in a variety of museums throughout the United States. His pieces have always been very valuable and because he recently passed away, his pieces have increased in value exponentially. Some of his pieces sell for as much as $100,000. This spear is a rare piece from Mr. Hamada\'s work as he made very few spears. It has been valued by a Hamada expert as having a value somewhere between $2,500 and $4,000. The spear is made of Kauila wood, a rare and expensive wood that was used for spears by the ancient Hawaiians due to its hardness. The spear also has beautiful black streaks in the wood, which is also a rare trait that makes the piece even more valuable. The spear is one-of-a-kind and in absolutely beautiful condition, I couldn\'t find any flaws on it. The pictures don\'t really do justice to how beautiful the spear really is in-person.
