RARE SOVIET DULYEVO BLUE WHITE GILT PORCELAIN PLATE 1950s \"RUSSIAN BAROQUE\":
$100.00

We have collected these wonderful Soviet \'Baroque\' plates over the years and they are not easy to find anymore...the antique shops and flea markets in Russia, are selling them the minute they manage to secure one or two of them, since the New Russians have become interested in collecting them...They were manufactured in many different color ways (please see all of our individual listings), and the colors are wonderfully intense and bright, with excellent gilding features on the raised part of the design.... a very dramatic counterpoint to any table setting...
They are heavy, weighing close to two pounds without any packaging, and 10 1/2 inches in diameter...but they are deep like a soup plate...not flat....so we have made an adjustment for shipping costs accordingly... Please note the shipping cost of this item is due to the size and weight of the plate and because it is a fragile item which needs to be packed very carefully, in a large enough box with enough padding to protect it. In addition, the plate is going to be insured. The $25.99 shipping cost I have listed is only half of what the actual shipping cost is. Because shipping for this plate costs over $50, I have decided to only charge the buyer half this amount, and pay the other half myself.
The Cooper Hewitt Museum has about 17 Dulyevo pieces of porcelain. mostly figurines, in their collection....but these are a rarity for sure...
WE HAVE THREE AVAILABLE IN THIS BLUE COLORWAY...EACH ONE WOULD COST $150.The Dulevo of Dulyevo Porcelain factory was a famous Russian/ Soviet operation, founded in the 19th Century initially...The Cooper Hewitt has about 17 pieces in their collection...here is the listing from Wikipedia: \"The works were founded in the Dulyovo wasteland (nowLikino-Dulyovo) in 1832 by merchant Terenti Kuznetsov.[1][2]Dulyovo porcelain has gained gold awards at theworld\'s fairsinParis(1937) andBrussels(1958, for article \"The Falcon\").[1][2]In 1976 the factory was awarded theOrder of Lenin.[2]The articles are now exported abroad, to theUnited States,Canada,Norwayand some other countries.[2]\"
