An rare and interestingsterling silver gilt commemorative goblet. It is hallmarked for London1973 with the maker’s marks being SD for Stuart Devlin. It has been beautifullydesign with the stem being mounted with five gilded replica coins, the insideof the goblet has also been richly gilded. It is marked on the base ‘THE BRISTOL ‘600’GOBLET No210 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 600’. It was made to commemorate 600 yearssince King Edward IIIgranted important rights and privileges to Bristol by this royal charter in 1373.It is in superbcondition being free from dings splits and repairs just slight surface tarnish to the central stem. It measures 6 inches (15.2cms)long by over 3 inches (8cms) across the rim and weighs a very impressive 406 grams. A top quality piece by one of the most sought after silversmiths.
