This is a wonderful find of a set of Dell Barbie & Ken Comics put out by Dell Comics in the early 1960\'s. These comics were short lived and only 5 issues were made. Rarely do you find a whole set. These are original vintage early 60\'s comics.#1 Comic shows a little girl day dreaming of Barbie & Ken. Dolls shown are Blond Ponytail Barbie in Penoir set holding her stuffed dog. A red haired Bubble cut in Bride\'s Dream and Ken flocked hair in tuxedo. Blond braided Barbie in black & white swimsuit with dark haired Ken in trunks and sandels. Previous owner put books in plastic envelope for protection and labeled this comic as VG (I do not know grading of comics but to me it is in fair/acceptable shape.) Some staining of edges and inside few pages) Bottom cover has unstapled itself. May-July 1962#2 Comic shows Barbie & Ken with travel bags. Blond Bubble cut wearing sweater girl and Ken in green overcoat and gray slacks. Aug-Oct 1962 Intact, yellowing of pages and top cover some light stain spots.#3 Comic shows dark haired Ken in casual outfit and red Barbie in Friday Night Date. May-July 1963 Some age discoloring and a bit of an odor up close.#4 Comic shows Red haired Barbie in tennis outfit and Flocked brunette ken in his tennis outfit. Aug-Oct 1963 Some age discoloring, tiny page bend on bottom right, Black letter B on side of net. Intact.#5 Comic shows Blond Bubble cut in Sophisticated Lady outfit and flocked Hair Ken in Tuxedo. Nov-Jan 63 The Last Issue Made The hardest of all five to find. Intact. Some yellowing of pages. Edge wear of binding. Still pretty good.
These have been read and handled. They are not mint but all of set and overall pretty good for 53 years!!!
