Purchased at a Mayfair Antiques Show,this Fantastic and difficult to find David A Bowles Devil Head Match Safe/Vesta in British Sterling Silver. Hallmarked“DAB” with date letter for 1972/3 and London.Now, I am not sure when VINTAGEdates from but his pieces are often described as \"Vintage\" and evensold as such in London at Harrods, Bonhams and on New Bond Street.

In reproducing these often veryexpensive antique Vesta cases David exceeded the original quality andweight. His detailing and mechanisms aresuperior and work every time. In short, people are now seeking out andcollectinghis work on its own merits and delighting in the range and detailing.It\'s in great condition, everythingworks perfectly! The lid opens by pushing on the nose. Hinges & mechanism are perfect and nothingloose. I really love the glass eyes…Originally made for safety in storing andstriking matches, now days use it to carry your pills or….???

This is nice heavy casting, will postthe silver weight this weekend. Though it should be bought for novelty/artistic value.
