VERY RARE!! THE MARYLAND PLATEThis unique plate was made exclusively for the Steiff Company by Coalport.

LIMITED EDITION OF ONLY 1000 PLATESThis plate was made for the Steiff Company which was a famous Sterling Silver Company in Baltimore, which made elegant silver and pewter from 1892 - 1979.
This vintage plate has a picture in the center of the US Constellation. Surrounding the Constellation are pictures of several historical Maryland landmarks. The company that made the plate was Coalport. Coalport was a company in England that produced fine bone china. The Coalport Company was established by John Rose in 1795. It is now part of the Wedgewood group. From the marking on the back of the plate, it may date from around 1929. The Plate measures 10 1/2\" in diameter. The background is cream Bone China and the printing is red. It is quite distinguished looking. There is one mark on the plate which is on the gold rim. There is a small spot where the gold is off which measures 5mm x 1mm. This is not noticeable but it is there. Other than that mark, the plate is in absolute excellent condition.
