RARE Unique Vintage Southwest Navajo Design Relief Clay Tile. The Tile is signed on the back, but has worn off over the years and difficult to read.
The tile is 10 inches by 10 inches and 1/2 inch thick, not counting the relief. The image adds another 1/2\" to 3/4 inch in thickness. The tile is very rare as I have never seen another like or can I find any information on the piece.I am NOT representing this tile as being crafted by an Native American. I do not know who the Artist is. The image is a traditional Navajo icon symbol. The tile is quite old and come from a private collection.It has a hook on back that was designed into the original design, ready to hang & display. Can also be installed like a regular wall tile.Excellent Vintage Condition.... Never installed, just displayed. Shows some wear or weathering on the surface.... lots of character. The tile looks like it may have been outside at one time from the weathering on the surface...See photos.
