VICTORIAN SILVER GILT SCENT/PERFUME BOTTLE

Circa 1860

Marked: Howell & Co Londonand GB

A rare, fine quality Victorian scentbottle mounted with a silver gilt hinged lid and collar. Quality glass body hasa beautiful renaissance style cut with matching sides. The mark inside of thelid is covered with glass and it is spring loaded providing a tight seal whenshut. The lid and the collar are lovely engraved with intricate design. Thecollar is attached with three tiny screws to the glass with working hinge and workingbutton release.

Condition:Good- Bottlehas few minuscule fleabites and some staining of the glass. The silver gilt lidhas two very small dents with tiny crack (pointed by pencil on photos). Theseminor faults are usual for an item of such age and are hardly noticeable.

Scent bottle is a lovely, rare additionto any collection.

Measurements: Approx. 9.5cm tall and approx. 6.5cm at its widest point.
