THIS BEAUTIFUL LION IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NORMAL EXPECTED CRAZING (SEE PICTURES). THERE IS A MAKERS EMBOSSED MARK ON THE BASE, BUT I CANNOT READ IT OR UNDERSTAND IT. THIS LION IS VERY HEAVY WEIGHING 2.5 POUNDS. IT MEASURES 8.25\" LONG AND IS 4.25\" WIDE AT WIDEST POINT. THE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT IS 4\". THE STYLE OF THIS LION SUGGESTS THAT THE MAKER IS SCANDINAVIAN, BUT IT COULD ALSO BE JAPANESE TAKAHASHI.
THIS LION HAS INCREDIBLE STYLIZATION WITH MID-CENTURY MODERNISM AND REMARKABLE DETAIL! IT IS MOSTLY COVERED WITH A GLOSSY GLAZE, BUT SOME AREAS ARE UNGLAZED MATTE. THE HUGE MANE FEATURES KNIFE TEXTURED ACCENTS AND IS COLORED WITH A BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN YELLOW GLOSSY GLAZE! THE NOSE, EYES, MOUTH, EARS, PAWS AND TAIL IS UNGLAZED AND COLORED IN A SMOKED OR FIRE BURNED BLACK ASH COLOR.
