RARE Vintage JACK BEECH Photograph depicting New Orleans ROYAL STREET IN THE RAIN. This beautiful original photograph comes in the original mid century hardwood Frame and with the original glass front. This purple toned sepia photo is all original and matted over a handsome matt backing, it is hand signed in pencil by Jack Beech down at the lower right corner of the matting. I just acquired this photo a few days ago and it came from a very beautiful home in Upstate New York. This elderly couple actually purchased this in Louisiana many many years ago and here is what the folks that I acquired this photo had told me about this photographer.
Jack Beech was a well known photographer who took the most beautiful photographs of Louisiana and the French Quarter as well as many other beautiful sites in Louisiana. He was also known for photographing Elvis Presley in 1958 when Elvis starred in the movie King Creole. Jack Beech did the classic handsome side view profile photo of Elvis during the making of the classic movie of King Creole, starring Elvis Presley.
Short Biography; Jack Beech was born in Massillon, Ohio and lived in California for a number of years. He then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Beech, a graduate of the Fred Archer School of Photography in Los Angeles, Ca. He originally pursued magazine editorial photography, working through the New York Agency and Black Star Publishing. Mr. Beech later formed Industrial Photography Inc., in New Orleans and established a reputation as a corporate photographer, the mainstay of his work being industrial, oil fields, aerials and advertising.
The photograph is in magnificent condition, the frame is in excellent condition, matting very nice and clean, glass is perfect and the pencil signature is crisp and clear. This displays so beautifully on the wall. I gently cleaned the frame with wood cleaner and it now looks better than the picture show. It is a beauty! The outside dimensions of the frame measure 14 1/2\" high by 11 1/2\" wide. The photograph measures 10 inches high and 8 inches wide. It has the hanger on the back of the frame to hang it on your wall. It is very detailed and if you view closely, you can see that it was raining that day on Royal Street in Louisiana.I don\'t know how this photographer created the beautiful purple sepia but it really stands out beautifully and the frame is outstanding as well.Hope you like it!
