DESCRIPTION: This is a fabulous 3 piece set by legendary Navajo artisan Ted "Teddy" Draper, Jr.: Squash Blossom Necklace, Clip-on Earrings, and Cuff Bracelet. Teddy had extracted classic western images of a Native American hunter mounted on a horse, and an American Bison or Buffalo. The images are set in 3-dimensional relief, against a background of hand-hammered silver. An extraordinary sampler of American Turquoise is used in the smooth channel inlay: High blue from Arizona, Green turquoise from Nevada, tight spiderwebbed black matrix, and brown/rust matrix. This is an exceptional set that will add depth and meaning to your collection of the finest vintage Native American jewelry.Teddy Draper, Jr. was born on October 3, 1949, and is the son of a former United States Marine Corps Navajo Code-talker who had served in the South Pacific during World War II. He is a member of the Navajo Nation and calls Canyon DeChelly and Canyon Del Muerto "home". His maternal clan is Naashgali Dine'e, paternal clan is Ashiihi, maternal grandfather's clan is todicheeni, and paternal grandfather's clan is tohahelini.Ted is widely known for his paintings and silverwork. His outstanding bracelets, buckles, and bolo ties are coveted by celebrities. Ted gives back to his Navajo community by supporting athletic teams, mentoring young artists, and keeping alive the old medicine ways.
