Rare Vintage book “Eagle Rock Scouting”, signed by author, Boy Scouts, Montclair, NJ, Camp Glen GrayThis rare offering of the story of the beginning of scouting in the United States is signed by the author, Luther Edmunds Price, printed in 1937 by the Montclair Times Company. This copy was owned by Lewis Wescoat, whose name appears on the inside front cover. Wescoat was one of the first scoutmasters for Troop 4, known as the Baden Powell troop. He was also a District Commissioner. The book goes into the history of the formation of Boy Scouting in America, the building of Camp Glen Gray-the first scout camp, and the influence of Frank Gray. Included are lists of Eagle Scouts, troop rosters, World jamboree attendees, Scoutmasters for Montclair, Glen Ridge, Verona, Cedar Grove, Caldwell, Roseland, Mountain View, and Essex Fells.The book is in very good condition.
